Situation on the Lachin-Khankendi road

- Since the beginning of protest action on the Lachin-Khankendi road from 12thof December, 2022 and up until 05th of March, 2023 a total of 3631 various types of transportation have crossed the road in both directions;
- Out of these transportation units 3202 belong to the Russian peacekeeping contingent, 426 to the International Committee of the Red Cross, and 3 units to the local Armenian population;
- During the period of 27th of February – 05th of March, 2023 a total of 505transportation units have crossed the Lachin-Khankendi road in both directions;
- During this period on average a daily number of 72 transportation units have crossed the road in both directions without any restrictions. During some days this number exceeded 80.
- Most of these transportation units are trucks that have delivered various food products, fuel, medications, as well as baby food and diapers to Khankendi. During this week 327 out of total of 505 transportation units were the “Kamaz” and “Ural” type heavy duty trucks;
- Vehicles belonging to the International Committee of the Red Cross have crossed in both directions 37 times, and continue medical evacuation in the direction of Khankendi-Lachin, and deliver products and medications to Khankendi.
Azerbaijani side is in close contact with the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Russian peacekeeping contingent in order to eliminate any humanitarian issues that could arise. Any appeals by the International Committee of the Red Cross regarding medical evacuation, delivery of medicines and other products are answered promptly.
